Dec. 21--WATERVLIET -- When accolades come his way, George Mardigan generally turns into the Section II version of "The Quiet Man." The veteran Watervliet boys' basketball coach does not like to talk about his considerable body of work. But becoming the ninth Section II coach in the New York State Basketball Hall of Fame is an honor Mardigan will readily converse about. "It is a great honor. I'm proud and happy about it," Mardigan said between a film session and practice Wednesday afternoon. "All of my focus right now is on this tournament (beginning Friday vs. Berne-Knox).
